Employment is changing, says business expert – the future of work is your personal
brand
The economy may never return to the point where companies are hiring large
permanent workforces, says Ecademy founder Penny Power
In a new business TV show Power explains that in the future we will contract our
services out to multiple clients, rather than a single 'boss'
Large scale lay-offs are one of the most visible and shocking effects of the downturn,
and for the vast majority workers who lose their job there is little cause for celebration.
Some professionals, however, are seeing forced redundancy as an opportunity to go it
alone and freelance. According to author and networking expert Penny Power, these
people represent the shape of employment to come.

'supplier workforce'.
“Employees need to start understanding what their unique contribution is to
organizations, and how can they transport that from one company to another,” says
Power. “Then start to be able to empower themselves as a supplier rather than as an
employee.”
