
The agenda of the ministers included preparations for the EU summit, particularly elements of the comprehensive set of economic measures.
Ministers for EU Affairs, met in Brussels on 21 March 2011, in order to prepare the meeting of heads of states and governments, which will take place on 24-25 March. In the second part of the week, the European Council will adopt a comprehensive set of measures, in response to the crisis. Chair of the GAC, JánosMartonyi said three other council configurations had been working on the preparation ofthe summit.“Each of my colleagues felt that the March meeting of the European Council will be historic one,” the Hungarian Foreign Minister described the atmosphere of the meeting to the press conference. He also expressed his hopes that markets will react positively to the message of heads of states and governments. “It is now safe to say that Europe has left the crisis behind, and stepped on to the road of recovery”, Martonyi said.
